Welcome Home Lewis

BILLINGHAM STARS are delighted to have captured Billog native Lewis Baldwin from NIHL National side Leeds Knights for the rest of this season, an invaluable boost as the team heads towards the business end of the season.

26-year-old Baldwin returns to his roots after a long stint in West Yorkshire, a Leeds Chiefs original in fact. A gifted utility player, Lewis spent much of his youth career in the Bradford Bulldogs ranks before adding Hull Pirates, Blackburn Hawks, Manchester Phoenix, Sheffield Steeldogs and Solway Sharks to his CV once he turned senior. Lewis joined the then-new Leeds Chiefs organisation in 2019 and became a mainstay of the team as it transitioned into the Leeds Knights. Lewis had five full seasons with Leeds, contributing consistently from the blueline. Across his time with the club through to the turn of the year he appeared in over 250 games, scoring regularly from defence and adding assists. He became one of the Knights’ more experienced and reliable players, and by 2025 he had become part of the core defensive unit.

Lewis is a right-shooting defenceman capable of moving up to forward if needed and is noted for his scoring contributions from the blue line. He is known for steady defensive play and contributing offence at National level.

It is fantastic to see Lewis back at the Forum in a Billingham jersey after all these years, we look forward to seeing him showcasing his undoubted talent in front of his hometown crowd in the weeks to come. Welcome home, Lewis!

Lewis will wear the number 41 jersey and is sponsored by Hockey Hound.
