Established in 1950, Clifton Lodge began as Barr and Wall in Hartlepool and have since expanded to serve communities in Billingham, Horden, and Sedgefield. The name “Clifton Lodge” comes from the original building they occupied.

Emergency & Out-of-Hours Care

Outside regular hours, they partner with Wilson’s Veterinary Group in Bishop Auckland for 24/7 emergency care—records are transferred back to Clifton Lodge the next day.
Branch Facilities Overview
Hartlepool
Largest site with four consulting rooms, two theatres, digital x-ray and ultrasound, full dental facilities, in-house lab, endoscopy/laparoscopy, and separate cat and dog wards. Moving to a new building on Brenda Road very soon (watch this space!) – this facility will offer CT services.
Horden
Opened 2019. Features three consult rooms, a large theatre, dental suite with x-rays, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and in-house lab; separate wards.
Billingham
Opened 2020. Includes two consulting rooms, surgical theatre, digital x-ray, in-house lab, wards, and dental facilities.
Sedgefield
Operates mainly as a consultation-only site, with patients referred/transferred to larger branches as needed.
