Season 26/27: Week 3 Preview
BILLINGHAM STARS will look to put a first W on the board in National Ice Hockey League Moralee Division tomorrow evening as Hull Jets pay the Forum a first visit of the season.
Much like the Stars, it has been a mixed start to the campaign for the Humberside club. Two games split with Leeds Knights 2 has Jets seventh in the very early League table, but there is a long way to go and a lot of hockey to be played yet. It has not been an off-season of massive change at Hull who continue to thrive under the coaching team of Andy Daintith and Mike Roddy, so a familiar-looking side should skate out tomorrow, albeit without suspended netminder Dan Crowe who will sit for two games for throwing his blocker into the face of Mackenzie Barker last Sunday.
Billingham may only have one point from three games, but that point was so unexpected that it has given the dressing room a much needed shot in the arm. Tomorrow should see the squad welcome back some bodies, but there will still be some gaps and so another game of hard graft will be on the cards.
